Therapy with Dr Judith Johnson
One-to-one, online therapy with an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, using a collaborative and CBT-based approach.
How I can help
I offer psychological therapy to people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Anxiety
Support with persistent worry, fear, avoidance and anxiety that is affecting everyday life.
Depression
Therapy to understand and address patterns of low mood, withdrawal, reduced motivation and self-criticism.
OCD
CBT-based support for distressing intrusive thoughts, compulsions and the cycles that maintain OCD.
A collaborative, CBT-based approach
Therapy is a space to understand what is happening, identify patterns that may be keeping difficulties going and develop practical ways forward.
My approach is informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). We will work together to agree priorities and tailor therapy to your needs, circumstances and goals.
Therapy may involve
- Developing a shared understanding of your difficulties
- Exploring links between thoughts, feelings and behaviour
- Learning and practising evidence-based strategies
- Working towards meaningful and achievable goals
CBT teaching and publications
My clinical work is complemented by longstanding involvement in teaching and publishing about CBT and clinical psychology.
CBT teaching videos
I have produced teaching videos demonstrating psychological formulation and CBT techniques. These are used by education and training organisations in the UK and internationally.
Books on CBT and clinical psychology
My edited books include Case Formulation in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and The Wiley Handbook of Positive Clinical Psychology, reflecting expertise in formulation, evidence-based practice and psychological wellbeing.
